COMMUNITY SERVICE OPPORTUNITY!! If any of the Utopia ISD students are in need of community service hours the school is looking for assistance in cleaning up after the storm from last night. Assistance needed with everything from light trash pick up to hauling limbs. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

JH TENNIS MEET CANCELLED: The JH Tennis meet scheduled this afternoon, 3/18/24, at Knippa has been cancelled due to the weather.

HS Track Schedule Update: The High School Regional Track Meet has been moved to Seguin High School on Friday, April 19, 2024, and Saturday, April 20, 2024.

NOTICE: City water has been shut off. Therefore, the school does not have water at this time and does not expect to regain water supply before the end of school. If you would like to pick up your student, please check in with the front office. There will be no penalty for missing the rest of the day. Further plans are being developed for bus routes and times. We will provide more information as it becomes available.

The boys regular basketball season ended Tuesday, February 13, 2024. In District 31-A there is a three way tie for third and fourth place. Therefore, there will be extra games to determine what teams advance to the playoffs and the final district rankings. The first game will be Thursday, February 15, 2024 between Utopia and D'Hanis in D'Hanis at 7:00 PM. The second game will be between Medina and the winner of Thursday night's game - location and time to be determined. A third game may be required depending on the outcome of the second game - location and time to be determined..

HS Basketball Schedule Update: Starting times for the games scheduled Tuesday, February 13th, have changed. JV Boys will begin at 6:00pm followed by the Varsity Boys at 7:00pm.

UIL ANNOUNCES DISTRICT REALIGNMENTS Districts are reorganized every two years by the University Interscholastic League. This morning the UIL announced reorganization for the 2024-2025 and 2025-2026 school years. Utopia ISD will play the following schools for district play in the assigned sports. The 2024 senior class will be hosting its final concession stand at homecoming this Friday, February 2, 2024! For our final meal we will be serving a $10 Fried Fish plate with French Fries, Hush Puppies, Beans, Dessert, and Tea or Water. We will begin serving at 5:00 PM and continue until we are sold out. So, come early and come hungry! Orders to go are available, but please feel free to stay and support the boys’ and girls’ varsity basketball teams, watch the crowning of the homecoming king and queen and recognition of the seniors! It will be a great night of events!!

JH BASKETBALL UPDATE: For this evening's game, 1/29/24, @ Rocksprings there will only be Girls A-team @ 5:00pm and Boys A-team @ 6:00pm.

DISTRICT 31-A JV TOURNAMENT

The District 31-A JV basketball tournament will be held Saturday, January 20, 2024 at the Utopia ISD gymnasium. Games begin at 8:00 AM. The Utopia JV boys will play at 8:00 AM, 12:00 Noon, and 5:00 PM. There will not be a Utopia JV girls team in the tournament. The athletic boosters will be sponsoring the concessions stand with breakfast items and a hamburger meal as well as many other refreshments. All proceeds go to the Utopia ISD athletic department. At this time, Utopia ISD is planning to operate on a regular start time of 7:45 AM with buses running on their normal schedule. We will continue to monitor the weather and road conditions. Due to inclement weather the regular monthly Utopia ISD School Board meeting scheduled for Monday, January 15, 2023 has been cancelled. Please consult the Utopia ISD website and public notice posting location at 258 School Street, Utopia, Texas for future meeting dates.

Due to a chance of freezing precipitation during the night and in an abundance of caution Utopia ISD will be on a two hour delayed start for Monday, January 15, 2024. Buses will run two hours later than normal and classes will begin at 9:45 AM. Road conditions will be evaluated at approximately 5:00 AM Monday morning.
